ITR-1 SAHAJ FORM
(for individuals having income from salary and interest)
The ITR-1 FORM also called SAHAJ is the Income Tax Return form for salaried individuals (i.e salary/pension/family pension and interest income)
ITR-2A FORM
for individuals & HUF'S not having income from business and profession & capital gains & who do not hold foreign assets
ITR-2A is a newly introduced income tax return form meant for individuals and HUF'S who have salary income and owe more than one house property and do not have income from capital gains
ITR-2 FORM
for individuals & HUF'S not having income from business or profession
The ITR-2 FORM is the income tax return form for individuls and HUF'S who do not have any income from business and profession The due date of filing ITR-2 form for the F.Y 2015-16 is 31 july ,2016
ITR-3 FORM
for individuals/HUF'S being partner in firms and not carrying out business or profession under any proprietorship
Income tax return is prepared on ITR-3 when: 1. an individual or HUF is a partner in a firm AND 2. where income chargeable to income tax under the head "profits or gains of business or profession" does not include any income except the income by way of any interest,salary,bonus,commision or remuneration due to or received by him from such form such firm

In case a partner in the firm does not have any income in the firm by way of interest,salary etc and has only exempt income by way of share in the profit of the firm, the assessee shall use this form only.

ITR-4 FORM
for individuals/HUF'S being partner in firms and not carrying out business or profession under any proprietorship
If the requirements of audit are applicable the due date of filing of a return is 30th september otherwise it is 31st july.
in case of presumptive method of taxation is applicable (SEC 44 AD and SEC 44 AE of the income tax act), ITR-4S must be filed.
Since ITR-4S is filed where gross receipt/ turnover is less than Rs. 1 crore , assessee who are carrying out business or profession under presumptive income as per SEC-44 AD and 44 AE under the income tax act but have turnover or gross receipt of more than Rs. 1 crore, will have to file ITR-4.
ITR-4S SUGAM FORM
for individuals/HUF's having income
from presumptive business
sugam ITR-4S form is for those taxpayer who have opted for the presumptive income scheme as per sec-44AD and 44AE of the income tax act. However if the turnover ofr the business mentioned above exceeds Rs.1 crore , the taxpayer will have to file ITR-4
ITR-5 FORM
for firms AOPs, BOIs and LLP
From AY 2013-14 onwards in case an assessee who is required to furnish a report of audit under sections
ITR-6 FORM
for companies other than companies
claiming exemption under section 11
ITR-2A is a newly introduced income tax return form meant for individuals and HUF'S who have salary income and owe more than one house property and do not have income from capital gains
ITR-7 FORM
for trusts and some specific companies
ITR 7 is filed when persons including companies fall under section 139(4A),or section 139(4B),139(4C),139(4D)
(i.e trust income, polotical parties, scientific research,related with university and colleges consecutively)
